EXPLANATION OF THE ACTIVITIES WITH STUDENTS

The activity called "Mission Based Guidance" has been done with ten students during a lesson. They had a mission: “You are asked by UNESCO to find ways of reducing Food Loss and Waste by mobilising relevant experts and providing sustainable solutions”.

So said, they started thinking about a theoretical plan in order to accomplish this mission. What they did is, first of all, think about experts in this field that in a theoretical case, could join them to
spread awareness about this matter. Then they thought about money and fundings. At the end they imagined some campaigns about how to prevent food loss and waste.

Doing this activity, followed by the teachers, they had the opportunity to know better this matter and got more involved in this theme.

REPORT ABOUT STUDENT’S FEEDBACKS

Students reported that this activity was very helpful because they had the opportunity to discover new aspects of this theme that they never thought or saw before. This research was also interesting for them because they were asked to get a lot involved thinking about a real plan that could stop this problem. They never did it, that’s why they were happy to be part of this activity.
